Chromium
Chromium is a corrosion- and tarnish-resistant heavy metal with a silver white color. It is a relatively common trace element in the earth crust that is mostly strip-mined. The metal is used to make stainless steel as well as corrosion- and heat-resistant alloys. It is a hard metal – a tough material that can be shaped and forged in its original state. It is most often used to finish metal surfaces.
