The joy of playing without being too playful. Exciting without being excited. Modest, full of self-confidence. Characteristics that make the Boker Plus Sanjo extraordinary and special. Guy Poggetti, knife designer from Marseille in France, is fascinated by art, technology and craftsmanship and incorporates this dedication into his designs, as with the Boker Plus Sanjo. Named after the small town of the same name in Niigata Prefecture, the pocket-knife is designed in a neo-Japanese style. Equipped with a ball-bearing Tanto blade made of VG10, the gentleman's knife tackles everyday cutting tasks with stoic efficiency. For a tidy look, the flipper disappears completely between the stainless-steel liners when open, which reflect the striking stonewash finish of the blade and form the inner centre of the folder with the robust linerlock for locking. The elegant appearance is rounded off by finely coordinated handle scales made of brown burlap micarta, from which the backspacer is also made. Supplied with a high-quality nylon case, a tip-up clip (r) and a "Sanjonara" greeting from the land of the rising sun.

Very good Pocket clip needs improvement

I have several Boker knives, Kwaikens and traditional folders, and was not disappointed when I took delivery of the Boker Plus Sanjo. This is a Robust knife at 5.1 ounces (146.1gr). The dark brown burlap micarta scales are nicely contoured, and coated with a durable coating. The VG-10 blade is very nicely machined on both sides. It's reasonably sharp, but it will be properly sharpened. The spine is not crowned but champhered to it's mid-length, which adds to the overall look and feel. My blade came everso slightly off center. I will attempt to tune it soon. Lock up is approximately 35%. The knife feels good in hand both opened or closed. My one issue, is long-standing. Four out of five Boker Kwaikens I own have unusable pocket clips as does this Snajo. The pocket clip is so tight that when I finally did get it in my pocket, it was clear that it wasn't coming out easily. This is basically inexcusable in this industry at this time. Especially with a premium brand like Boker Plus. Ultimately I like it and will definitely keep it. But I'd like to see a better version of a pocket clip, on the next batch.
