Excellent design, faulty locking system

I purchased this knife from a small knife shop in a rural town. The Urban Trapper's design stood out to me. It really does look like a gentleman's knife. Refined form factor, appealing materials, and a company such as Boker having a reputation for high quality knives. As someone who enjoys knives, I had to have it. It has served me well for months, with a smooth opening action and no issues at all related to any normal use. However, it recently came to my attention, through the reviews of a similar knife, the Urban Trapper Gentleman (which I believed mine was until today), that the locking mechanism on it does not truly lock the blade into place. Hearing this, I went to test it out on my own Urban Trapper. Unfortunately, it was true. With enough force applied to the back of the blade, the lock will be pushed aside due to the angled surface on the bottom of the blade. It does take a considerable amount of force to do so, but the mere fact that it's possible has made it unappealing for me to carry. The actual chances of such an accident to happen due to this fault in a natural manor is unlikely, but because of this, I cannot recommend that anyone purchase this item in the current state that it's manufactured, especially for the price.
